Toulouse Theatre – New Orleans, LA

On April 2nd, 2023 students from the Harrison School of Music performed in the city that is the birthplace of Jazz – New Orleans, LA.  Our students were rock stars, with a full backing band of professional musicians comprised of teachers from the school backing them up.

Students studying at the school are offered free recitals 2x per year in professional performance venues, as well as the opportunity to perform at special world-class venues as part of our “Destination Recitals” series.

Below are pictures, and weekend recap video, and full professional video with soundboard audio from our New Orleans performance on April 2nd, 2023.

Testimonials from New Orleans Attendees:

This is my daughters 3rd destination recital and all I can say is Wow! What an experience for these young performers. Leah has grown so much not only do these recitals motivate her to be the best version of herself but it has also given her an opportunity to make amazing friends. I love to see her perform but love to see how close she has become with her fellow performers who have formed incredible bonds and friendships. – Nicole Fabrizi

What a great experience and opportunity for young budding musicians. Such great benefits. The New City and Harrison Music Schools afford young budding musicians with great opportunities to expose them to different stages where other musical artists have graced. The students and families were genuinely excited. All musicians performed great! They are all rising stars ✨!! Everything was set up in a way that students felt like they were each individually and equally important and most importantly, headliners! What a fantastic experience and opportunity! Looking forward to the next destination recital! – Angie Despinasse Walton

The Destination Recital in New Orleans was a great event. The rich musical history was evident in the French Quarter, on the Boat ride dinner down the Mississippi and the event theater. Seeing our son’s performance, in comparison to last year, shows how much Harrison’s School of music has helped him mature, both musically and as a person. Truly a memorable experience.. – Juan Calderon

We as a family had the most amazing experience at the New Orleans destination recital! Getting to watch your kids perform on stage with a band of musicians who were obviously so proud of the kids and so incredibly supportive of them brought me to tears! My children truly felt like stars and were beaming with pride after the show! We’ve experienced a lot of great things but honestly this was our best experience by far with our kids in any of their extra curricular activities! It was such a unique experience! I don’t know if any other place that gives kids the kind of experience that makes them feel like rockstars! I’ll never forget the smiles and engagement from the band members all of whom work for the music school! – Vinny Grippo

We had an amazing experience at the New Orleans destination recital. The New School of Music is definitely a professional school. I definitely recommend this school for children in the performing arts field. – Gabby Ruiz

This destination recital was a great experience for Maggie, from choosing music to practicing with such a big goal in mind to playing with professionals for the first time. I feel she reached a new level in her music, and she can’t wait to do it next year!  – Jeanne Woods
