Dear Students & Parents,
We are very excited to announce that the Harrison School of Music and New City School of Music are going on tour this spring to Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee to perform at the home of the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley on Thursday, April 7th, 2022.
Graceland is a mansion on a 13.8-acre estate in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, once owned by singer and actor Elvis Presley.
The Harrison School of Music and the New City School of Music are one of 8 schools selected among hundreds of top performing music schools in the United States and Canada for this once in a life time experience happening between Wednesday April 6th and Thursday April 7th 2022. Our specific performance date has been confirmed for Thursday April 7th, 2022. We have been given a 3 hour time slot to perform that day, and only have room for 30 performers.
As always, we’ll be taking care of business and all of the details so that you can have peace of mind knowing that the day of the performance will go smoothly and that you and your appearance at Graceland Theatre will be positive and memorable. Imagine the transformation that your student will go through by preparing for and participating in this event. Big events like this are known to bring out the best in performers – abilities that have always been there, but just hadn’t been uncovered yet! You’ll be able to tell your friends, family and neighbors that your child had the opportunity as well as the confidence to play at the King of Rock & Roll’s home! Not to mention the credibility of being able to add the performance to your child’s resume and college applications!

Takin’ Care Of Business!
All participants in the Graceland performance will have the opportunity to perform with a backing band of professional musicians comprised of teachers from the schools. Imagine if you are a guitar or vocal student, and you get to rock out on stage in front of an adoring audience with full drums, bass, keyboards and vocals backing YOU up with a full concert sound system! There’s no better way to feel like a rock star! Acoustic drums, keyboard, bass amps, lighting and full PA system will be provided. We will also provide professional photos and professional videos of the event.
NOTE: Unlike our previous Destination Recitals, and due to our selection to participate in the Graceland performance – there will be no ticket purchases required for the audience. Participants can bring as many family and friends as they like for the performance at no additional cost!

As one of the largest hotels in Memphis, the 450-room resort is a reflection of Elvis’ personal style, with designs inspired by Graceland Mansion. The Guest House includes 20 stylish, specialty-themed suites, each with designs supervised by Priscilla Presley. Many of these suites are located on the top floor — known as “The Upstairs” — evocative of the upstairs at Graceland Mansion, which was the private living quarters for Elvis and his family.
Kick Off Dinner Cruise on the Mississippi River on Wednesday April 6th, 2022
Enjoy a kick-off dinner cruise on the Mississippi River with our performers and their families the night before the performance. Enjoy live music by the Riverboat Band while having dinner and cruising down the mighty Mississippi River.
- Dinner Menu: Memphis-style Pulled Pork BBQ, Marinated Grilled Chicken Breast, Baked Beans, Corn, Cole Slaw, Buns and Dessert. Complimentary tea and water. There are no substitutions.
We have reserved a group dining reservation on the Dinner Cruise specifically for our group. There is an extra fee for the dinner cruise. $55 per adult, $51 per child under 17. A final head count to the school and fees to the school will be collected 90 days prior (January 6th 2022) to the Dinner Cruise. The dinner cruise lasts approximately 2.5 hours, and attendees need to be at the dock at 7:00pm.

Registration Requirements:
Registration for the Graceland performance will be on a first come, first served basis beginning Thursday, October 14th, 2021 at 12:00pm. Please contact the school office by phone, email, text or in person beginning at 12:00pm on Thursday October 14th 2021 to reserve your space. Once we have 16 students signed up, registration will be closed, and a waiting list will be started.
- Registration is open to ALL Students, regardless of instrument.
- Performers must be currently enrolled students at the school.
- A completed Registration Form (downloadable on this page) must be turned in to the office and performance fee must be paid to secure your registration.
Travel & Lodging
Performers and their families are responsible for securing their travel and lodging. Families are welcome to stay anywhere they like in Memphis. We recommend The Guest House at Graceland as it is located on the Graceland property and just a few steps from Elvis’ mansion and the recital theatre venue.
Where is the recital taking place at Graceland?
Graceland Guest House Theater is an intimate venue that can seat up to 464 concert goers. It is part of The Guest House at Graceland, Memphis’ second largest hotel and a Four Diamond luxury resort. The resort includes 450 beautiful rooms and suites, several restaurants, a bar/lounge, pool and easy access to the Elvis Presley’s Memphis Entertainment Complex and Graceland Mansion.
