Flute, Saxophone and Clarinet, all members of the woodwind family of musical instruments, are offered for students ages 8 and older. Earlier than age 8, a student typically does not have the lung capacity and strength to handle these instruments. Our flute, saxophone and clarinet instructors play in many of the biggest New York City jazz bands and are proficient with both jazz and classical woodwind literature.
Need help with the music for high school or middle school band? We’ve got you covered! Our woodwind instructors are familiar with all of the most popular method books currently being used in middle and high schools. Our flute, saxophone and clarinet instructors are proficient on all three of these instruments, so a student can start with clarinet lessons if they wish and switch to saxophone lessons without having to change instructors.

Lessons are available 7 days a week:
Monday-Friday from 11:00am – 8:30pm
Saturdays from 9:00am – 4:00pm
Sundays from 1:00pm – 6:00pm

Our teachers understand that every student comes to us with personal musical needs and goals. We make it a priority to tailor each lesson to your individual needs.
When you enroll here for saxophone, flute or clarinet lessons, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, you will develop a plan to achieve your goals! We love beginners, so even if you don’t know where to begin, we can help!

We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical. We combine the important fundamentals with the music YOU want to play. With plenty of teachers at the Harrison School of Music you are sure to find the best match for YOU.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
Our instructors are highly qualified, all have teaching experience, and most importantly, they have a passion for teaching. Being a musician doesn’t automatically make you a teacher–that’s why we search for those who are best qualified for mentoring our music students!
Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as New York University, Indiana University, Berklee College of Music, University of North Texas, Manhattan School of Music, University of Miami, Juilliard, SUNY Purchase and more! Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parents on a personal level.
